Data collection, management and reporting - Origin
Origin’s functionality can be tailored to meet the needs of individual authorities. A number of Origin’s "out-of-the-box” features are highlighted below:
Public Homepage
Origin provides tools to support interaction with the public. The public facing page is lucid and easy to use allowing people with all technical abilities to freely interact with data and explore their region and see how their local authority is delivering against key performance targets.
Postcode Profiling
By entering a post code on the home page visitors can access key facts about any neighbourhood or region in their area. For example, LASOS (www.lasos.org.uk) users can currently view prosperity, crime or fire profiles and how these compare with other neighbourhoods.
Data Security
Data security can be configured so you remain in control of what information and reports are made available to the public.
High Visual Graphics
Origin allows for information to be displayed to authorised users in graph and tabular formats. This allows for fast effective scrutiny of data. Information can be selected and drilled down by dataset, geography and variable to give clear concise information to council staff and policy makers. This information can be exported to Microsoft Office™ products for further analysis and inclusion in reports as required.
Interactive Mapping
Origin allows statistics and information to be displayed on maps for further analysis of data and presentation for reporting purposes. Origin includes a report generator that allows users to create reports that can include maps, charts and tables. Interactive Mapping allows for thematic representation of pre-selected statistics enabling users to control what they see on their maps.
